Sacramento Valley Coin Club: Your Guide to Northern California’s Premier Numismatic Community

Discover the Sacramento Valley Coin Club: A Hub for Numismatic Enthusiasts

For coin collectors in Northern California, the Sacramento Valley Coin Club (SVCC) is a must-join numismatic organization. Founded in 1957, SVCC has been a cornerstone of the numismatic community, offering education, camaraderie, and opportunities for both novice and experienced collectors. Whether you're interested in rare coins, historical currency, or bullion, SVCC provides a welcoming space to learn and connect, attracting members of all ages.

Sacramento Coin Club Wednesday Night Meetings

The club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Swanston Community Center (2350 Northrop Ave, Sacramento, CA 95825). During the Sacramento Valley Coin Club meeting, you can expect to chat with other hobbyists, learn from guest speakers, and bid in live auctions.

The meeting is divided into two halves: the first half typically features an educational talk, Show-n-Tell, or another presentation related to the hobby. Afterward, there’s a 15-minute break to socialize with fellow members, browse coins, and preview the auction lots before bidding begins in the second half of the meeting. The second half features a lively auction with in-person bidding. Each auction includes 100 lots, all contributed by fellow coin club members. The meeting wraps up with an exciting door prize drawing and raffle giveaway.

Sacramento Valley Coin Club Show: Spring & Fall Bi-Annual Highlights

In addition to its bi-weekly Wednesday night meetings, the Sacramento Valley Coin Club hosts two major coin shows in Northern California each year—one in the spring and one in the fall—where members can buy and sell coins in a trusted environment. The coin show is held in the ballroom of the Four Points by Sheraton (4900 Duckhorn Dr, Sacramento, CA 95834), typically from Thursday through Saturday (days are subject to change). With 30+ knowledgeable dealers setting up tables, attendees can explore a vast selection of coins, currency, bullion, and numismatic specialties—all under one roof. You can expect hourly door prizes and tickets for sale at the door for a chance to win a variety of gold, silver, and collectible coins. A highlight for young collectors during the coin show is Kids’ Day, held on Saturday, featuring a coin scavenger hunt, free coin giveaways, and “Kids-Bucks” that can be spent with participating dealers.

The club welcomes enthusiastic volunteers to help make each show a success—from setup and registration to breakdown—offering a great way to get involved behind the scenes and interact with other coin club members.
